As a small boy I was obsessed by concocting stories, songs and even poems. Like many wishing to make a living from creative writing, unfortunately the hard facts of life take over, and the real life need for ‘proper jobs’ become the norm.
Having hundreds of pages stored away, mostly handwritten, way before the time when computers were commonplace, my first success came when I completed a movie length screenplay, when living in Los Angeles. Much of the narrative loosely based on life experiences up to that date.
But again, the need to ‘put food on the table’, swamped my creative ability for several more years. Eventually, with considerable help and guidance from a collection of friends, I found the support to become a full-time author.
I hope a number of my stories, a few assisted by some of my adventures, make enthralling reading.
Having a large family, one of my principle influences almost naturally, has become stories for children of many ages. I have created three main characters who have already begun a series format.
JANGO, a young African elephant who becomes a talented bicycle rider, which brings about dangers from evil man-people wishing to own the talented little devil.
Next, I have created a Chinese Scouse teenager, BILLY CHEN, who along with his inherited time travelling abilities, develops computer games on his Apple Laptop, which combines with his magical abilities.
My latest character for younger children is DAT, a Tibetan terrier who becomes involved in a number of adventures linked to fairy tale creatures.
But there’s more - much more. Loads more for the grown-ups.
